PORTRAIT COMMISSIONS

Due to popular demand, Ilene is now presenting a portrait commission option within her artistic practice. The price points and sizes are listed below. This would make a lovely family heirloom, memory piece for a certain age and time in your life, or a sentimental and monumental gift for a family member, female friend or partner.

The paintings would be done in Ilene's signature painterly colourful style with large dynamic brush-strokes and bright oceanic background colours.

Process

The process of purchasing a portrait would include:

a) A visit to Ilene's studio for a small one hour sketch painting. Ilene requires this sitting in order to see your flesh tones in real life and make a physical memory of those shades for the later development of the finished painting.

b) After the sketch portrait is finished Ilene will photograph the model in natural light with a digital camera. About 10 - 15 pictures will be taken and then Ilene will choose the one that she feels will best suit the lighting and the colours that inspire her process. This photo session will take approximately 10 or 15 minutes.

c) Ilene will have that photo blown up and then produce the finished piece in isolation in her studio. This process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to one month, depending on the number of paintings that Ilene is working on at the time.
