This is an introductory class for someone who wants to learn the basics of painting what they see. A beginners class for painting covering; tonal values, brush strokes, colour theory, under painting, the still life and the creation of your own image. Perfect for the person who may have painted in High School and wants to "get back into it" with basic step by step instruction.
DRAWING WHAT YOU SEE

This is an introductory class for someone who wants to learn the basics of Drawing What They See. Learning to draw using step by step methods of the old Masters. Perfect for someone who has never picked up a pencil or for someone who wants to improve their abilities with representation. construct, proportion, contour drawing, bind contour drawing, still life, shading, and charcoal techniques are covered.
INTRODUCTION TO PORTRAIT or LANDSCAPE PAINTING
MONDAY NIGHTS: START ANYTIME Six Classes $200: 7:00-9:00 Depending on enrollment. Materials Extra
For someone who wants to learn to paint the human face and create a painting of a family member or friend using the techniques of the old masters. Or someone who wants to paint a landscape working from a favourite photograph. Under painting, drawing basics, tonal values, colour mixing, brushstrokes and composition will be covered.
ADVANCED PORTRAIT PAINTING
MONDAY NIGHTS: START ANYTIME Depending on enrollment Six Classes: 7:00-9:00 Six Classes $200: Materials extra.
For someone who has taken the Introduction to Portrait Painting and wants to continue mastering the portrait. The course will cover composition,conceptual content incorporating colour into the flesh tones, and improving drawing accuracy. Working with oil will be an option if the student chooses. The course will culminate with a self portrait.
PRIVATE LESSONS-$30/hr
Private lessons are availiable with Ilene at the studio.Students have booked these for help with specific projects, portfolio preparation and private instruction to help improve on specific skills. ONE ON ONE lessons can be booked with Ilene directly by emailing her.
